Who is behind this mysterious name, both soft and rough?
First, the brown bear, in the language of the Evens, nomadic people of the Siberian tundra. Kobalann is the mythical animal that captured the imagination of our ancestors and lurked in tales and legends. The wild beast par excellence...
Since 2010, Kobalann lends its name to the publishing company founded by photographer Vincent Munier. Its objective: to offer beautiful books of photographs and illustrations, as well as multimedia products (sound, video, web) resulting from the work of artists whose primary source of inspiration is nature. Elegant, well-crafted objects to show the poetry of the great outdoors and open up new paths in the imagination of everyone.
Today, it is also an audiovisual production company. In 2019, Kobalann co-produced with France TV Studio the 52-minute documentary film "Ours, simplement sauvage" (Bear, simply wild). In 2021, Kobalann co-produced its first feature-length cinema documentary with Paprika Films, "La Panthère des neiges".
